INTERNET ADDICTION DITINJAU DARI KETERAMPILAN SOSIAL PADA SISWA SMA PAB 6 MEDAN

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keterampilan sosial dan internet addiction. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan negatif antara keterampilan sosial dengan internet addiction dengan asusmsi semakin tinggi keterampilan sosial, maka semakin rendah internet addiction dan sebaliknya semakin rendah keterampilan sosial, maka semakin tinggi internet addiction. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi SMA Persatuan Amal Bakti (PAB) 6 Helvetia Medan Sumatera Utara sebanyak 127 orang yang dipilih dengan metode disproportionate stratified random sampling. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan koefesien korelasi sebesar -0.535 dengan p sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif antara keterampilan sosial dengan internet addiction. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa hipotesis penelitian ada hubungan negatif antara keterampilan sosial dan internet addiction, dapat diterima.
