MAZHAB PERIPATESIS (MASY-SYA'IY) DALAM FILSAFAT ISLAM

Abstract

Perkembangan Islam pada zaman keemasan, selain ditandai dengan kemajuan dalam bidang politik dan ekonomi, juga perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dalam semua bidang, termasuk dalam bidang filsafat Islam, sehingga bermunculan corak pemikiran yang juga disebut dengan mazhab filsafat Islam, seperti masy-sya'iy (peripatesis), isyraqi (illuminasi), dan ‘irfani (gnosis). Ciri khas mazhab peripatesis ialah semangatnya yang rasionalistik argumentatif menggunakan logika Aristoteles dengan pembuktian yang teruji dan rasional. Cara kerja yang lebih aplikatif ini membuat mazhab peripatesis mendapat dukungan yang lebih banyak secara kuantitas kuantitas, yaitu jumlah filosof dan topik kajian, dan kualitas yaitu intensitas kajian dibanding dua mazhab lainnya, yaitu Illuminasionisme dan Gnosisme.
