Abstract

Dalam kajian pemikiran Islam di Indonesia, nama Azyumardi Azra, tidaklah asing. Dia seorang intelektual Muslim Indonesia yang memiliki reputasi internasional dan nasional dalam kajian keislaman. Oleh karenanya, tidaklah lengkap kalau seorang ingin mengkaji pemikiran Islam di Indonesia, jika tidak mengikut sertakan tokoh Azyumardi Azra. Pemikirannya dalam kajian Islam memiliki corak tersendiri, sebagaimanan corak pemikiran keislaman Nurcholish Madjid (Cak Nur) yang memiliki corak pemikiran Islam keindonesiaan. Azyumardi Azra, boleh dikatakan memiliki persamaan dengan pemikiran Caknur, tentunya, terlepas dari kelebihan dan kekurangan dari keedua tokoh besar tersebut. Artikel ini, berusaha memperkenal kan tokoh pemikiran Islam Indonesia, Azyumardi Azra.
