Pemikiran Karen Armstrong tentang Tuhan Menurut Perspektif Islam

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memahami pemikiran Karen Armstrong tentang Ketuhanan dan pandangannya tentang Islam. Kajian ini merupakan pustaka. Pemikiran Karen Armstrong dalam buku Sejarah Tuhan dan Masa Depan Tuhan merupakan rujukan primer, sementara itu rujukan sekunder diambil dari buku-buku dan berbagai media lain. Menurutnya, agama berisikan dogma yang harus ditaati dari apa yang diperintahkan di dalamnya dan menjauhi dari apa yang dilarang adalah kebaikan untuk semua umat manusia dari agama apapun, baik Yahudi, Nasrani, maupun Islam. Adapun tindakan-tindakan keji yang bersifat mengganggu, menyakiti dan merugikan umat lain itu bukanlah ajaran yang patut untuk dilakukan dari sebuah agama. Karen Armstrong mampu mengejutkan pembacanya, bahkan terang-terangan mengatakan bahwa Tuhan itu personal. Dia menggambaran bahwa Tuhan seperti manusia, dalam artian memiliki pribadi dan masa depan Tuhan adalah tergantung pada persepsi manusia.Kata Kunci: Karen Armstrong, Tuhan, Islam.References
