Focus and Scope

AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan & Matematika invites original research articles and not simultaneously submitted to anotherjournal or conference. AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan & Matematika is a scientific journal which focuses on publishing research in mathematics education and applied mathematics.

The scope of this journal includes, but are not limited to the following topics:

A. Mathematics Education

1. Mathematics teaching and learning in primary school, high school, and higher education.
2. Technology in mathematics teaching and learning
3. Teacher professional development in mathematics
4. Innovative mathematics teaching and learning applying various approaches such as Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), contextual teaching, and learning (CTL) approach, and many others.
5. Studies related to mathematics teaching and learning in a broader context

B. Applied Mathematics

1. Mathematical modeling
2. Control theory and automation
3. Optimization
4. Operational research

Please note that AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan & Matematika does not accept a literature review paper.

Peer Review Process

AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika implement each accepted manuscript will go through a review process by the Editor and two reviewers, using a Double blind Peer-Review Process, which the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and the author did not know the identity of the reviewer.

AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika implement policies Double Blind Peer-Review, every manuscript received will be sent to Reviewers who registered in AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika. Each reviewer is given a maximum of 14 working days (approximately 2 weeks) to complete the review process. If a reviewer who has been previously assigned is unable to complete the review within the specified time frame, the Editor-in-Chief will appoint a replacement reviewer to ensure that the review process proceeds according to the journal’s editorial timeline.

In the review process, reviewers provide considerations relating to compatibility between the title, abstract, introduction, methods, result, discussion, and conclusion. In addition reviewer also give consideration associated with novelty, scientific impact and references used.

Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by Editors according to reviewers comments. Publication of accepted articles including the sequence of published articles will be made by Editor in Chief by considering sequence of accepted date and geographical distribution of authors.

Timeline:

1. Author submit the manuscript
2. Editor Evaluation [some manuscripts are rejected or returned before the review process] : 2-6 week
3. Double-blind peer review process : 3-4 week
4. Editor Decision (Accepted Submission, Revisions Required, Resubmit For Review, Decline Submission) : 1-2 week
5. Acceptance to Publish : 2-6 weeks

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Withdrawal of Manuscripts

Authors are discouraged from withdrawing submitted manuscripts, as the editorial process involves significant time and effort from editors and reviewers. However, authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript for reasonable and clearly stated reasons.

To request a withdrawal, authors must submit an “Article Withdrawal Form” signed by all authors or the corresponding author, explaining the reason for the withdrawal. The manuscript will only be considered withdrawn after the author receives official confirmation from the editorial office. Authors may contact jurnalaxiom@uinsu.ac.id to request the withdrawal form.

Withdrawal of a manuscript that is currently under review in this journal due to submission or acceptance in another journal is considered unethical, as simultaneous submission is not permitted.

For articles that have already been published, any request will be handled in accordance with publication ethics policies (e.g., retraction, correction) following applicable guidelines.

This policy follows the principles of publication ethics as outlined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
4. The text is 1,15 lines; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
6. Authors are obliged to avoid plagiarism. Editors will check the similarity level of every submitted article.
7. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
8. An article can be submitted in Bahasa Indonesia or English. When the article is written in English, it must be proofread by professionals.

Journal History

AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika was published in June 2012. Since then, the journal has published articles once every six months, namely every June and December. Issues of Volume 1 to Volume 5 in 2016 were still in hard-copy (printed-out) (P-ISSN) and did not follow the Open Journal System (OJS).

AXIOM: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika was recognized as a national journal in 2017 based on the regulation issued by the General Director of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number: SK no. 0005.25800450/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2017.05 - 20 May 2017 starting with Vol. 6, Number 1, January – June 2017 (E-ISSN) so that writers and researchers could easily access the articles published in AXIOM: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika. AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika focuses on publishing research in mathematics education and mathematics.

Since publishing Vol. 9, No. 1, January to June 2020 AXIOM: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika has changed the journal cover and template to have a more informative cover and to have a more complete and informative template for potential authors. The template of Vol. 9 Number 1 can be seen here.

In 1 December 2021, the Editor in Chief of AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika was changed, namely from Dr. Indra Jaya, M.P.D (deceased) to be Dr. Yahfizham, S.T., M.Cs.

Since Volume 10 Issue 2, Axiom Journal has applied an Author Publication Fee of IDR 700,000 per article.

In Vol. 11, Number 1, January-June 2022, the template of AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika was changed. This decision was made to have provided a more complete and informative template for the prospective authors, and this was also by the Decree of the General Director of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 106/E/KPT/2021 concerning Guidelines for Accreditation of Scientific Journals. The template has started being used since Vol. 11 Number 1, and the template can be seen here.

Starting from Volume 13 Number 1 (2024), AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Matematika uses the following new template (download here) and all article published in english.

Starting from Volume 13 Number 1 (2024), AXIOM : Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika has changed the focus to publishing research in mathematics education and applied mathematics.
